Growing up in the days of Intel 386 processors and 2400 baud modems left me fascinated with computers and what they could do. Endless hours of playing Nibbles and Gorillas on the family computer set me up for a lifetime of sitting in front of computers. My first paycheck was courtesy of working the helpdesk for a local ISP called "City-Online", which allowed me to build my first computer in 1997. That led to an internship at a SC state government agency helpdesk where I was able to see the inner workings of an IT department first-hand. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in International Business and a B.S. in Business Information Systems, I moved to New York City in 2006, where I was hired by the NFL and worked my way from L1 Helpdesk to Senior Engineer. After starting a blog focusing on PowerShell, I transitioned to working for Morgan Stanley, where I am today. I enjoy biking around NYC and volunteering in the local community. A couple of groups I'd recommend: BetaNYC and Transportation Alternatives.
